Majolica returned.

Minton Oyster Plate.
I haven't done much of majolica recently or since I worked in New York. Back then I had a routine going. Now starting on it again, all I can say is, I still have it! I'm pretty happy with the results.

Before moving the old restoration.

After moving the old restoration - finding out the whole well was badly scratched by the previous restorer.

After my magic, not the best picture, seems washed out a bit but the lighting seems to be different every day. :) But definitely better than before!

Staffordshire Old Lady Figurine

She was a fun project, don't you think she has character? Call me crazy but sometimes I find myself talking to these figures while I'm working on them. Hahaha, can you tell I work alone all day long?!?!?! Usually these Staffordshire pieces have a lot to them as far as restoration goes, this one had previous restoration on her hand, cane, basket, dress, feet, the works. But it's fun work, nothing too difficult but enjoyable, a no brainer.

After.
The hand was rebuilt from scratch, changed the cane color since original seemed to have been yellow, basket needed in-painting to hide all the hairlines and chips it had, I made the basket handle little better looking also.

Lladro finished

Mother&Child
Mother's arm was broken and glued before and her fingers were missing on the same arm.

Detail pictures of the fingers.

Detail pictures of the arm.

I took the old restoration apart and cleaned it off to get a better fit on the arm once glued back. This way the restored area will be as small as possible. In-painting/matching the original color with Lladros is a bit tricky but I'm happy where I got. Finishing also has to be very glossy and it has to blend in smoothly. I think it looks great!

Roseville

De Lee Art

My first blog post.

I better get this ball of a blog rolling. It's pretty much a complete mystery to me still so bear with me and I will get it. So here we go!

First off - welcome! I'm glad you came and I'm glad you're still reading on. I finally started a blog - huge thanks to my friend, Greg, who sold me on the idea of starting one! He's also been SO very helpful on the technical side of things that is an unclimbable mountain to me at times... So thanks Greg! And also to you Tapio, I remember you recommended starting a blog looong time ago. :)

Today I've been battling with my business taxes, what a joy of a ride that is! Wow. Well, not really.... But that ride has to be experienced. Battle goes on. And as far as actual restoration, I've been working on a two Roseville Wisteria pots, a Fiesta bowl, couple of De Lee Art pieces as well as some DeForest pieces. I hope to get some of those pictures up here soon.
