About Me

I'm originally from Finland, Scandinavia. When I was 15 years old,  I saw a Finnish coffee commercial featuring a building restorer - I was inspired.  Eventually I got my Diploma in Decorative Painting after completing my internship and diploma work in New York City in a company called Antiquarian Restorers. This internship started my career of becoming an object restorer. I kept returning to New York for more work experience and inspiration. It was a great place for me to see and work on all kinds of pieces of art from all over the world - one day Christie's or Sotheby's could be bringing in a beautiful Tang Dynasty horse and another day a private collector could be bringing in their unique piece of Picasso pottery. It was priceless, let alone to learn all the tricks and the trades of restoration work itself. After a number of years in New York City and Finland also, Maine is where I call place now. Starting my own business here was really my only option. Now that the plunge has been done - I'm happy to have done so. It's fun and challenging work, needs a touch of patience but over all a very rewarding field to be in. I love what I do.
